So Salty, It Won't Even Call Itself a Smoothie. | SPG 31 Days of Smoothies
When I was writing ideas for all of my smoothie recipes, 'The Salty Almond' came forward and I could not stop giggling. I just imagine a smoothie with a lot of sass, critiques your choice of straw, refuses to get cold...create your own story here.
The truth is, though, that there's nothing salty about it. This smoothie is reminiscent of candies with almonds that sparked joy. Chocolate, coconut, almonds....what's not to love (in a smoothie, because the candies were tooth-meltingly sweet).
But since the inspo for the recipe sparks joy, what's better than calling it the complete opposite?
Hence, I present to you: The Salty Almond.
Le Fin.

The Salty Almond (Smoothie)
1 cup milk of choice
1 serving protein powder of choice
1-2 pitted Medjool dates or 2-4 Deglet dates (You're sweet! Aww.)
1-2 tablespoons raw cacao or cocoa powder
1-2 tablespoons unsweetened dried coconut
1 tablespoon creamy or crunchy almond butter, OR 2 tablespoons raw almonds
1/4 of a large frozen banana
Tiny pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (always optional)
1/4 teaspoon almond extract (always optional)
Make It:
Put it in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Don't be salty. It's gonna be alright.
