Not a winter person. Never was. Even when I was a kid. I took absolutely NO delight in bundling up to go play in the snow so our parents could get a break from 3 rowdy children for an hour or so. I hated playing in the snow. It was cold. I don't like layers. I don't like trying to grip things with thick gloves only to fail.
I DO want to put my arms down.
So this winter, there's...well, there's a lot of arctic activity going on everywhere. A lot a lot. We'll leave it at that.
So if you, too, are not a winter person, and artic-ness is getting to you, you need a big dose of sunshine. Of Vitamin C. And some greenery.
This smoothie delivers on all fronts. I am now fully obsessed with it, and I want you to be obsessed with it, too.
Because YOU deserve some sunshine too. Yes, you sure do.
Of note: I don't mess around with too much in this sunshine packet. There's no protein powder, or dates, or vanilla, or spinach, or yogurt, or oats, or anything like that. Please feel free to make this your own by adding all of the things if you would like. If you would like a dose of protein and not mess with the color, I would add hemp hearts or a neutral colored (beige?) protein powder.

Pineapple Basil Mood Boost Smoothie
1 cup water (bonus: use sparkling water. Heck yes.)
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1/4 cup frozen mango chunks (optional)
3-6 fresh basil leaves, torn (I used 6)
That's it. I am not kidding.
Make It:
Blend until smooth (totally). Add a little more water if too thick due to the consistency of the frozen fruit.
I made sure to leave specks of basil in the smoothie; it adds a pretty vibe.
