I love, love, love tahini. I use it for a a lot of things, including a replacement for nut butters and sesame oil in stir-fry sauces.
Now, when you mention the nuttiness of the nut-free tahini and combine it with deep, rich chocolate, you know you're on to something.
This is one of my new favorite go-to smoothies. Plenty of flavor, healthy fats, and a luxurious texture, but for any food sensitivities, feel free to leave any part of the ingredients out or make substitutions to make this smoothie truly your own.
Chocolate Tahini Walnut Smoothie
1 cup milk of choice
1 serving protein powder of choice
2 tablespoons raw cacao or cocoa powder
1 tablespoon tahini
1 tablespoon walnuts
1-2 pitted Medjool dates, 2-4 Deglet dates, OR for true Baklava vibes, 1 teaspoon raw honey
1/4 of a large frozen banana
Tiny pinch of salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla extract (OPTIONAL)
Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Hug a neighbor (if they are willing).
