Remember those cherry candies where you bite into a ball of chocolate and there was a gooey cherry center that leaked out all over the place and for once you didn't care if you were sticky? I think they're still around. My mom LOVED those.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, make this smoothie.
If you do know what I'm talking about, then you'll know: LIQUID OVER CREAM FILLING ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
Chocolate Cherry Cordial Smoothie (Inspired by my Mom):
1 cup milk of choice
1 serving protein powder of choice
1/2 cup frozen cherries
2 tablespoons raw cacao or cocoa powder
1-2 pitted Medjool dates (or 2-4 Deglet dates). It depends on how sweet you like your smoothie.
Tiny pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (ALWAYS OPTIONAL)
You know what comes next:
Go ahead and blend that thing. Drink it and smile. Or drink it and be dour. Your mood is up to you.
Although...there's quercetin in those cherries, and there's chocolate too, which are both mood boosters. Just floating that on the lake.
